Gravity is a new Layer-1 blockchain project launched by Galxe, aimed at facilitating mass Web3 adoption and enabling an omni-chain future. The project's Alpha Mainnet, powered by Arbitrum Nitro and rolled up on Ethereum, is scheduled for launch in Q2 2024, with the full Gravity mainnet featuring its native PoS Layer-1 and Reth EVM execution engine set to debut in Q2 2025.
Gravity's design focuses on providing cost-efficient and secure cross-chain transactions through Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) verification, significantly reducing blockchain operational overhead. It introduces cryptographic primitives like the secp256r1 curve for cost-effective passkey authentication, enhancing security and usability for Account Abstraction wallets. Additionally, Gravity leverages the high-throughput Reth execution layer combined with the Jolteon consensus algorithm to achieve near-instant transaction finality.
As part of the Galxe ecosystem, Gravity supports key products such as Web3 identity verification and task systems. It is anticipated to handle up to 60 million transactions per month and will allow developers to tap into Galxe’s existing user base of 20 million. The blockchain also utilizes staking and restaking protocols, including Babylon and EigenLayer, to ensure robust security. Gravity's innovative approach aims to streamline cross-chain operations and improve the overall user experience in the Web3 space.
