According to the New York Post, the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) launched its first reform initiative following President Trump's inauguration. The plan quickly commenced actions to reduce federal spending, announcing the closure of the Federal Chief Diversity Officer Executive Committee (CDOEC), which was previously responsible for promoting the federal government's diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies. Musk shared the news saying, "The action has begun." Previously, Trump had promised to completely terminate illegal DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs and cut the budget by 1 trillion dollars.
