The Supreme People's Court has announced a typical case involving gambling, with the amount in question nearing 600 million yuan, and has confiscated tens of millions in related funds and a large amount of virtual currency. The Rongchang District People's Court in Chongqing tried the case of defendant Wang Zhimou, who operated a casino. He developed agents and gamblers through the "Yuzu Alliance" gambling platform, with the total amount in the case reaching 590 million yuan, involving over 900 bank card accounts and virtual currency funds. The court sentenced Wang Zhimou to four years and five months in prison for the crime of operating a casino, imposed a fine, and confiscated illegal gains and related funds. The Supreme People's Court pointed out that the people's courts closely cooperate with departments such as public security and the procuratorate to lawfully implement relevant measures for sealing and freezing assets, confiscating tens of millions in related funds and a large amount of virtual currency.
