Deutsche Telekom partners with Metzler Bank to pilot Bitcoin mining infrastructure using surplus energy.

Deutsche Telekom has partnered with Metzler Bank to pilot a Bitcoin mining infrastructure utilizing surplus energy. The mining will use electricity from renewable sources that would otherwise go unused due to insufficient grid input capacity and/or lack of storage options. The pilot project aims to provide effective on-site data and insights for the planning of subsequent projects. Deutsche Telekom MMS is responsible for the operation of the equipment and collaborates with Metzler Bank to identify and analyze the test operations and data evaluation.
