Holo Limited is a cloud hosting company owned by the Holochain Foundation, designed to power a distributed hosting network for decentralized applications (dApps). It builds the core infrastructure of the Holo network, including HoloPorts, HoloFuel, and essential hosting applications, enabling a decentralized cloud hosting marketplace that supports a peer-to-peer (P2P) network and applications. Holo Ltd. manages the compliance and regulatory aspects of the business, including the operations of HoloFuel, which serves as the native currency within the ecosystem.

Holochain, distinct from Holo, is an open-source framework for building scalable, agent-centric dApps. The intellectual property of Holochain is maintained separately by the Holochain Foundation. Unlike typical open-source projects that rely on external funding, the Foundation established Holo Ltd. to generate sustainable revenue, ensuring the continued development and maintenance of the P2P network.
