Brian Quintenz is a Sui board member and was formerly the policy lead for cryptography at a16z, where he helps transition between the cryptography and policy communities. Brian has long been an innovative thinker in the cryptocurrency and DeFi space and was one of the first leaders in Washington to recognize the value of cryptocurrencies. Brian initially joined a16z crypto as a Senior Advisor. In December 2022, he will lead its policy team full-time. Prior to joining a16z, he was nominated by Presidents Obama and Trump to serve on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). At the CFTC, Brian was founder and executive director of Saeculum Capital Management, LLC. from Duke University and M.B.A. from Georgetown University.
